Freeview has announced significant changes to its TV guide, including the closure of the Talk channel (Ch 280). This British news channel, known for debate and opinion-led journalism, will now only be accessible through the official Talk app or other platforms like Samsung TVs, Roku devices, and LG screens.

In addition to the channel closure, Freeview is updating its lineup. Wedotv Big Stories on channel 275 will be rebranded as Wedotv, while Ketchup TV and Ketchup Too will switch positions from Ch 209 to Ch 208 and from Ch 210 to Ch 209, respectively. Furthermore, Cartoon Classics, previously on Ch 214, can now be found on Ch 210.

According to Freeview, these changes will take effect on 25th June 2026. The platform emphasized that channel movements are common, ensuring a diverse content experience for viewers. To ensure access to the updated channels, users are advised to navigate to their TV settings and perform a retune.

To retune your TV, follow these steps:
– Press menu on your box or TV remote control.
– Select ‘set-up’, ‘installation’, ‘update’, or a similar option. If prompted for a password, use ‘1234’ or ‘0000’.
– Choose ‘first-time installation’ or a similar option.
– Confirm the deletion of existing channels if prompted, and the retune process should begin automatically. Save any found channels as necessary.
