When it comes to maintaining our well-being, additional guidance and support are sometimes necessary. Tesco, with over 360 in-store pharmacies scattered across the UK, caters to more than half a million patrons weekly. This retail giant offers a seamless experience for picking up prescriptions, utilizing their extensive healthcare amenities, and engaging with their expert pharmacists while you do your routine shopping.

Juggling essential health check-ups amidst hectic schedules can be a challenge for many individuals. Depending on online sources for solutions to health concerns can often exacerbate stress rather than alleviate it. “Hence, we provide swift and convenient pharmacy services, health consultations, and a plethora of health and wellness products in our pharmacies that customers can readily access while shopping,” states Tom Lye, the Health and Wellness Category Director at Tesco.

From flu vaccinations and preventive healthcare services to weight management programs, Tesco’s in-store pharmacies serve as a comprehensive solution for health advice. “A brief visit to our store can offer crucial peace of mind or the necessary assistance our customers seek,” Tom emphasizes.

Moreover, pharmacists can save valuable time by prescribing treatments for various common ailments like sore throats, ear infections, insect bites, sinusitis, and UTIs through the NHS Pharmacy First initiative, eliminating the need for a GP appointment.

Furthermore, Tesco Pharmacists are equipped to address long-term health concerns. “Our pharmacists have received additional training from prominent organizations like Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and the British Heart Foundation to furnish information, support, and raise awareness on cancer, heart diseases, circulatory issues, and type 2 diabetes,” Tom reveals. “When at Tesco, customers can approach the pharmacy counter and request a consultation with the pharmacist sporting a Let’s Talk badge.”

“For heart health inquiries, our pharmacy teams provide a convenient walk-in blood pressure check – no appointment required,” Tom explains. “A brief in-store visit can offer peace of mind or prompt necessary early interventions.”

This year, Tesco Pharmacies have conducted over 9,000 complimentary blood pressure tests for customers – a service that is significantly impacting individuals’ well-being.

Not only do customers benefit from the services offered by in-store pharmacies, but Tesco employees can also avail themselves of the convenient support provided. “Our colleagues can access virtual GP consultations and additional assistance concerning sleep therapy, nutrition, exercise, and mental health through the Employee Assistance Programme,” Tom highlights.
