An Ontario couple, Alannah MacLean and Kyle Heddle, along with their dog Diesel, embraced a nomadic lifestyle, traveling across North America in a custom van that serves as their home. Their journey led them to Labrador, where they intended to make a brief stop before heading to Newfoundland, but ended up staying for almost a month due to the warmth of the people they encountered and the experiences they gained about the region’s way of life.
Captivated by the landscapes and culture they encountered, MacLean and Heddle documented their adventures on their YouTube channel, Way of the Roads. They utilized a drone to capture breathtaking views of their explorations, including the scenic spots of Newfoundland and Labrador such as Bell Island, the Baccalieu Trail, Gros Morne, and the abandoned theme park Trinity Loop.
Their Labrador episodes highlighted encounters with icebergs and wildlife, as well as their journey along the Trans-Labrador Highway. With 138 videos and 23,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel, the couple has been sharing their travel experiences with a growing online audience.
Having met during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, MacLean and Heddle’s relationship blossomed through shared outdoor activities. Their mutual love for nature eventually led them to embark on a journey of exploration, which they continue to share with their followers.
