Shocking visuals depict the aftermath of a plane disappearance with 11 individuals on board. The aircraft in Indonesia vanished from radar screens on January 17, with wreckage discovered in South Sulawesi. Taking off from Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta, the Indonesia Air Transport flight lost contact with air traffic control just 12 miles from the airport.

Scheduled to land at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar, South Sulawesi, the plane was instead located crashed in a remote region of the province. Rescue teams swiftly responded to the scene in search of survivors.

Tragically, a man’s deceased body was recovered about 656 feet down a ravine on the slope of Mount Bulusaraung on Sulawesi island. Although unidentified, it is presumed to be a passenger from the ill-fated aircraft.

Muhammad Arif Anwar, the chief of the Makassar Search and Rescue Office, stated, “The discovery of the main sections of the aircraft significantly reduces the search area and provides a vital lead for narrowing down the search zone. Our combined search and rescue teams are intensively focusing on locating the victims, especially any potential survivors.”

Fragments of the plane’s fuselage were spotted scattered across rugged terrain on Sunday. Rescuers encountered debris spread along a steep mountainside in Indonesia, with the wreckage found on Mount Bulusaraung in Sulawesi.

Officials journeyed to the remote mountainside amidst foggy conditions as part of their search efforts. The Indonesia Air Transport plane vanished from radars shortly after departing the airport, prompting authorities in Indonesia to announce the recovery of a man’s body suspected to have been onboard.

The ongoing mission to locate the other 10 individuals on the tragic flight remains underway.
