Nigel Farage has violated the Members of Parliament’s code of conduct by not promptly registering financial interests on 17 occasions.

The leader of the Reform party, often referred to as “Nine Jobs Nigel,” has faced previous criticism for engaging in lucrative side ventures beyond his annual MP salary of £93,904.

According to a report issued by Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards Daniel Greenberg on Wednesday, he found multiple instances where Farage had not timely disclosed interests in the register.

Greenberg stated, “Upon receiving a complaint from a member of the public regarding Nigel Farage’s delayed registration of interests beyond the House’s 28-day limit, I conducted a comprehensive review of Mr. Farage’s entries in the Register of Members’ Financial Interests.”

“After thorough examination, I noted several other interests that seemed to have been registered late, prompting me to initiate a formal inquiry on October 30, 2025, to investigate Mr. Farage’s compliance with Rule 5 of the Code of Conduct. Following my investigation, I confirmed seventeen breaches of Rule 5 by Mr. Farage for not adding interests within the prescribed 28-day timeframe,” he added.

Greenberg clarified that the delays in registering interests were unintentional and attributed them to staffing and administrative challenges. Farage admitted to the breaches and issued an apology.

Despite the significant number of breaches, the commissioner opted not to refer the matter to the Committee on Standards, deeming it appropriate for the rectification process.

In a November letter to Greenberg, Farage cited the complexities of his varied interests, including his roles as a TV presenter, successful private businessman, and MP. He emphasized his commitment to declaring all his interests and acknowledged the administrative oversight that led to the delays.

In a subsequent letter in December, Farage shifted blame to a senior team member, requesting a private meeting to discuss the matter further.

During a meeting in December, Farage asserted that his earnings were not a result of his MP status but stemmed from his individual endeavors.

The analysis of Farage’s Register of Interests revealed substantial earnings from travel sponsorships and authorities worldwide. Recent financial disclosures showed Farage earning over £1 million from secondary jobs since the general election, with significant income from roles like GB News presenter and brand ambassador for Direct Bullion.

Labour Party criticized Farage for prioritizing personal gain over constituents’ interests, highlighting the need for stricter regulations on MPs’ secondary jobs to ensure accountability and focus on public service.
