The mother of a young man who had been missing in Thailand for nine days has provided a heartbreaking update, confirming that his body has been discovered. Joshua Kershaw, a 21-year-old from Grimsby, was last seen in the popular tourist destination of Pattaya on January 12. Despite his scheduled flight back to the UK from Bangkok on January 19 at 8:30 pm local time, he did not board the flight, prompting UK authorities to classify him as a high-risk missing person.
In an effort to locate Joshua, his family launched an appeal, and a GoFundMe campaign was initiated. However, Jenny, Joshua’s mother from Wakefield, shared the tragic news on Facebook, stating, “As much as my heart is breaking right now, we have now located Josh. But unfortunately he was not alive. We are now trying to get his body back to the UK.”
Numerous individuals expressed their condolences in response to the news, offering words of support and sympathy. Jade Kershaw also relayed the sad update on a GoFundMe page dedicated to finding Joshua, mentioning the family’s devastation at his passing. The funds raised will now be used to repatriate Joshua’s body and cover funeral expenses to allow him to be laid to rest surrounded by his family and loved ones.
The community’s outpouring of support during this difficult time was acknowledged, emphasizing the significance of their kindness and solidarity. The family requested continued thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this tragic loss.
