A child is in critical condition with severe injuries allegedly caused by their father, leading medical experts to believe that the baby’s chances of survival are slim. The father, facing charges of child cruelty and causing serious harm to the child, was granted bail despite opposition from prosecutors.

During a court hearing, it was revealed that the child’s injuries, including multiple brain bleeds and a fractured skull, are life-threatening and could have long-lasting effects if the child survives. The child’s mother, who has also been charged in connection with the case, has refused certain medical scans that could have aided in the baby’s care.

The incident came to light when emergency services were called to assist a baby in cardiac arrest. The father admitted to shaking the baby, but medical professionals suspect that the extent of the injuries indicates a pattern of abuse rather than a single incident. The child’s mother, too, has been arrested but released on police bail.

Despite the severity of the situation, the accused father was granted bail with strict conditions, including regular reporting to the police and no contact with witnesses. The court acknowledges the gravity of the case and the need for stringent measures to ensure the safety of the child and prevent further harm.

The legal proceedings are ongoing, with the next court date scheduled for March.
