Robbie Williams surprised fans by releasing his latest album, BRITPOP, three weeks earlier than planned. The unexpected launch took place early on Friday morning, with the album cover displayed on prominent London buildings to mark its debut.
Originally scheduled for October 10, 2025, the pop star shifted the release date to February 6, 2026, to avoid clashing with Taylor Swift’s album, The Life of a Showgirl. BRITPOP is Robbie’s 13th studio album, featuring guitar-driven melodies inspired by his early solo career era.
In a statement announcing the release, Robbie stated, “You thought it was coming then… then we changed our minds… and now it’s happening. Ladies and Gentlemen: BRITPOP – the album.”
Following his 2019 release, The Christmas Present, and the non-seasonal The Heavy Entertainment Show in 2016, BRITPOP includes tracks such as Rocket, Spies, Human, Pretty Face, and All My Life.
The album boasts collaborations with various artists, including Coldplay’s Chris Martin, Gaz Coombes, Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi, Mexican duo Jesse and Joy, and former Take That bandmate Gary Barlow.
Robbie shared that BRITPOP fulfills his long-held dream of creating an album post his departure from Take That in 1995. He described the album as raw, guitar-infused, and more upbeat and anthemic than his previous works, blending British influences with pop elements.
If BRITPOP secures the number one spot on the UK charts, Robbie will tie The Beatles’ record for the most chart-topping albums. The album’s release precedes a forthcoming Netflix documentary on Take That, featuring archival footage of Robbie’s time with the group.
