Authorities from Dyfed-Powys Police have stated that there is no criminal investigation underway, and the coroner has been notified about the situation. The family of the deceased baby is receiving support from specialized officers during this difficult time.
According to a spokesperson from Dyfed-Powys Police as reported by WalesOnline, the police were alerted by the ambulance service about the medical emergency involving the infant at a property in Ponthenri. Tragically, the baby did not survive, and no criminal inquiries are currently being conducted. The coroner has been informed, and the family is being provided with ongoing assistance.
In a separate incident, a two-year-old girl lost her life after falling into a pond on Christmas Day, despite her family administering CPR until the ambulance arrived. The child, Isobel Abigail Maxwell, received CPR for approximately 25 minutes at her family home in Doncaster before being transported to the hospital.
An inquest into Isobel’s passing was opened and adjourned by senior coroner Nicola Mundy at Doncaster Coroner’s Court. The incident was reported to South Yorkshire Police by the ambulance service on December 25. Isobel’s father identified her, and the family has made arrangements with a funeral director for a cremation. The full inquest is scheduled for September 14.
