Punters who visit the new Wetherspoons pub in Spain may find themselves paying higher prices compared to their local branches. While the menu items remain reasonably priced, they generally exceed the costs at the chain’s regular high street locations.

According to company officials, operating pubs in airports comes with higher expenses, which reflects in the pricing at the Spanish pub. They mention that the prices at this new establishment are in line with what they offer at their outlets in airports and railway stations across the UK.

For instance, a substantial breakfast in Spain amounts to 10.25 euros (£8.84), while the average price for the same in the UK is only £5.09.

To evaluate the pricing differences, a comparison was made by the Mirror between the Alicante pub and Wetherspoons’ Solihull pub in the West Midlands, as well as the one at Gatwick Airport. It should be noted that there are variations in the sizes and ingredients of certain products, adding complexity to the comparison.

Here are some examples of items compared:

– Margherita pizza
– All day brunch
– Classic burger
– Chicken, eggs, and beans
– Pint of Stella Artois
– Asahi beer
– Pint of Greene King Abbot Ale
– Guinness 0.0
– Coca Cola/Pepsi (398ml)
