The latest findings have uncovered the most popular loyalty schemes in the UK, with Tesco Clubcard emerging as the top choice among consumers. A comprehensive survey of 2,200 individuals was conducted for the Retail Loyalty Index, evaluating loyalty programs offered by 51 major UK retailers. Participants rated their satisfaction levels, likelihood of recommending the program, the level of personalization of rewards, and the security of handling personal information by the retailers. Each retailer received a score out of ten based on these criteria to determine their ranking.
Tesco Clubcard secured the leading position with an impressive overall score of 8.38, praised by shoppers for being a “very generous program with ample redemption options” that enhances shopping convenience and affordability. Notably, Tesco excelled in the “continue to shop” category with a score of 9.16, indicating that customers integrate Clubcard into their regular shopping routines. Members earn one point for every £1 spent both in-store and online, with every 100 points translating to £1 in-store credit or £2 with partner establishments such as Disney+, restaurants, and travel destinations.
In second place was Leon Club, achieving an overall score of 8.20, particularly commended for high satisfaction and recommendation ratings. Members of the Leon Club app accumulate 100 points for every £1 spent, unlocking a complimentary menu item upon reaching 3,000 points. Users appreciate the program’s user-friendliness, attractive incentives, and the efficiency in accumulating rewards compared to other loyalty schemes.
