Gregg Wallace is contemplating a move from the UK following his departure from the popular show “MasterChef.” Sources close to the presenter reveal that he is considering relocating to Italy, where his wife Anne-Marie’s family originates.
With his television career uncertain after being dismissed from the BBC1 show, Wallace is exploring new online ventures that offer him the flexibility to work from anywhere in the world. Currently residing in Kent with his wife, mother-in-law, and autistic son, Wallace has transitioned to online health coaching and selling personalized videos on Cameo.
Expressing his admiration for Italy, Wallace describes the country as a special place and has previously produced content there for his show “Big Weekends with Gregg Wallace.” He has also co-authored an Italian cookbook with his spouse.
In an interview, Wallace mentioned that his wife had urged him to consider relocating to Italy due to his increased anxiety levels. The presenter was terminated from the BBC amidst multiple allegations, including unwelcome physical contact and indecent exposure.
Claiming to be a victim of injustice, Wallace is pursuing legal action against the BBC for damages related to distress and harassment. A review confirmed several complaints against him, including inappropriate behavior and language. The co-host, John Torode, faced allegations of using a racist term but denies the accusations.
Wallace, who disclosed his autism diagnosis, attributes his actions to the intense atmosphere in TV studios. Despite issuing an apology for any distress caused, his autism defense has drawn criticism from advocacy groups cautioning against using it as an excuse for misconduct.
The BBC has refrained from commenting on the ongoing legal proceedings involving Wallace. For more entertainment news, follow Mirror Celebs on various social media platforms.
