Fitbit, known for its long-standing commitment to helping users maintain an active lifestyle, is introducing the Fitbit Air, a new offering under Google’s ownership. The Fitbit Air, unlike its predecessors, ditches the traditional screen for a sleeker design reminiscent of popular Whoop bands that wrap around the wrist like a stylish accessory.

While the absence of a screen means sacrificing features like message notifications, heart rate monitoring, and exercise stats display, the Fitbit Air brings notable benefits. It boasts a more comfortable bracelet-style strap design, as confirmed by a recent Google study rating it as more comfortable than leading competitors.

Moreover, the Fitbit Air impresses with its extended battery life, lasting up to a week on a single charge. Quick charging capabilities provide a day’s worth of power in just five minutes, supported by a convenient bi-directional magnetic charger that eliminates the need to align the device correctly for charging.

Despite its minimalist appearance, the Fitbit Air remains true to its fitness tracking roots. It monitors sleep patterns, daily activities, exercise routines, heart rate, and can even alert users to irregular heart rhythms or conditions like AFib.

Internally, the Fitbit Air houses an array of sensors, including an optical heart rate monitor, a 3-axis accelerometer, a gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for oxygen saturation, and a temperature sensor. Data collected by the device is seamlessly transmitted to smartphones for a comprehensive health overview through the Google Health Coach app.

Water-resistant up to 50 meters, the Fitbit Air will be offered in four stylish color options: Obsidian, Fog, Berry, and Lavender. Priced at £84.99, the Fitbit Air promises an affordable and convenient solution for fitness enthusiasts seeking a streamlined tracking experience.
