Former British Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair has been announced as a member of the Gaza “Board of Peace,” a new initiative led by US President Donald Trump to promote peace and prevent future conflicts in the region. The White House revealed that Blair will join other prominent figures from the Trump administration on the “founding executive board,” which is responsible for spearheading long-term peace endeavors in the Middle East. The board includes individuals such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Middle East special envoy Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner, who is President Trump’s son-in-law.
The White House stated that the founding board will work towards actualizing the Board of Peace’s goals, with members assigned specific roles to support the stabilization and redevelopment of Gaza. Additionally, Blair is also listed as a member of the broader “Gaza Executive Board,” which appears to have a mandate overseeing governance and reconstruction initiatives in the area.
