A woman from the UK testified in court that Barron Trump, the youngest son of Donald Trump, played a crucial role in saving her life. Barron, aged 19, was on a FaceTime call with the woman in January 2025 when he allegedly witnessed her ex-boyfriend assaulting her. He immediately dialed emergency services (999) from the U.S., alerting authorities in the UK about the ongoing attack.
The accused, Matvei Rumiantsev, a 22-year-old former MMA fighter, is currently facing trial for multiple charges, including assault, bodily harm, rape, strangulation, and perverting justice. Prosecutors claim that Rumiantsev became enraged over the woman’s connection with Barron, leading to the violent incident on January 18 of the previous year.
During the attack, Rumiantsev reportedly physically assaulted the woman, hurling degrading insults at her. Barron’s emergency call to 999 was played in court, where he urgently described the situation to the operator. Despite initial confusion, the call ultimately led police to the woman’s location.
The woman, acknowledging Barron’s swift action, expressed gratitude for his intervention, describing it as a pivotal moment that potentially saved her life. The court also heard about previous instances of abuse by Rumiantsev, including alleged rapes and attempts to coerce the woman into retracting her accusations.
Rumiantsev’s defense attorney challenged the woman’s narrative, alleging fabrication of events and claiming that the accused had acted in self-defense during the altercation. The woman vehemently denied these accusations, emphasizing the seriousness of her claims and the impact of such false allegations on genuine victims of abuse.
The trial is ongoing, with further testimonies and evidence expected to be presented before a final verdict is reached.
