Logan Taylor, a Nova Scotian native, had a remarkable journey from towering over his peers on the soccer field before his 10th birthday to pursuing his dream as a professional football player. Standing at an impressive six feet seven inches and weighing 312 pounds, Taylor currently finds himself in Los Angeles, undergoing his first training camp with the NFL’s Chargers following his selection in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. Notably, he holds the distinction of being the highest-selected Nova Scotian in the NFL Draft.

Having grown up in Lunenburg, Taylor’s path to the NFL required him to leave his hometown at the age of 14 and embark on a journey that took him through various locations, including Timberlea, N.S., Virginia, and Massachusetts, all in pursuit of his football aspirations. While Nova Scotia is renowned for producing hockey stars like Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon, Taylor’s success in the NFL adds him to the short list of Nova Scotians to have played in a regular-season NFL game.

Taylor’s determination and work ethic were evident from a young age, as he transitioned from dominating the soccer field to excelling in football. His dedication and passion for the sport, coupled with support from mentors like the Masons, shaped his journey to professional football.

Throughout his academic and athletic pursuits, Taylor remained focused on his goal of reaching the NFL, which culminated in his draft selection and subsequent opportunity with the Chargers. As he navigates the challenges of NFL training and competition, Taylor remains grounded and aims to inspire young athletes from Nova Scotia to pursue their football dreams.

Living in Los Angeles has presented Taylor with new experiences and opportunities, although he misses the outdoor activities he enjoyed back home. Despite the demands of NFL training and competition, Taylor remains committed to his craft and is determined to prove himself on the field. His message to aspiring athletes is simple yet powerful: consistency, hard work, and a relentless drive are essential to achieving success in a competitive field like professional football.
