The Isle of Man TT has sadly reported the passing of Daniel Ingham, aged 33, after an incident during a qualifying session. Ingham, hailing from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, lost his life following an accident at Doran’s Bend on the track.
The tragic event occurred during the first lap of the third qualifying session. Ingham is survived by his wife, Helayna, and their two children. A statement released by the Isle of Man TT Races confirmed the unfortunate news and expressed condolences to Ingham’s family and friends.
Ingham began his racing journey in 2016 at the Manx Grand Prix and later transitioned to the Isle of Man TT Races. With a decade of experience in competitions, he attained several podium finishes, including a notable first-place victory in the 2024 Senior Manx Grand Prix.
This incident marks the first fatality at the TT since 2024 and comes shortly after a fatal crash at the Billown circuit during the Pre-TT Classic Road Races last weekend.
Following Ingham’s passing, tributes flooded in from fans acknowledging the risks involved in Isle of Man TT racing. Messages honoring Ingham’s passion, talent, and dedication to the sport were shared on social media platforms.
In a separate incident on the same day, Sidecar class champions Ryan and Callum Crowe, winners of the 2025 race, were hospitalized after a crash. This followed another crash involving rider Maria Costello, who is currently in a serious but stable condition.
In response to these events, the Isle of Man TT announced the suspension of the Sidecar class for the remainder of the event, emphasizing the priority of safety for all participants, spectators, and officials.
