Co-op has introduced a significant update for its online shopping loyalty members. The members of Co-op can now take advantage of their personalized weekly deals when making online purchases, resulting in potential savings of over £80 annually. These personalized offers encompass discounts and promotions on frequently purchased items.
Moreover, Co-op has expanded its online services to allow members to redeem any monetary value added to their membership card, including game prizes and bonus offers, when shopping online at shop.coop. However, personalized offers are not applicable when using third-party delivery services like Deliveroo or Just Eat.
Last year, Co-op enhanced its personalized offers by 67%, offering a total of over 700 deals, including popular brands like Huel, Pop Chips, Actimel, Pilgrams Choice, and Vimto. Furthermore, Co-op has extended its member price savings to shoppers on platforms such as Just Eat, Uber Eats, Deliveroo, and Co-op’s online store.
Rachel Halter, Customer Director at Co-op, expressed that 88% of their online shoppers are Co-op members. She highlighted the importance of providing value to their members through initiatives like online personalized offers. Co-op aims to grow its membership base to eight million by 2030, emphasizing the benefits of joining, including exclusive money-saving opportunities and perks like early access to event tickets at Co-op Live.
Co-op currently boasts approximately seven million members, with a nominal £1 joining fee. The company has planned to open 18 new or upgraded stores in the first quarter of 2026. The first new store of 2026 recently launched in Willowbrook Park, Didcot in Oxfordshire, with additional store openings and renovations in the pipeline.
In line with its commitment to community development, Co-op has unveiled plans to establish thousands of new apprenticeships by 2030. Through its Levy Share service, Co-op will invest £70 million to create 7,000 matched apprenticeships, enabling levy-paying employers to transfer unused funds to support apprenticeship programs in various sectors and communities.
Over the past four years, the apprenticeship scheme has successfully matched over 3,800 opportunities, with a focus on aiding deprived communities and the care sector.
