Donald Trump raised the possibility of canceling the upcoming congressional election in a recent interview with Reuters. The US President expressed frustration over the historical trend of the party in power losing seats in Congress during midterm elections. Trump suggested that based on his administration’s accomplishments, there might not even be a need for an election this year.

During a speech, Trump expressed discontent about having to compete against Democrats and hinted at the idea of canceling the election, although he acknowledged the potential backlash from the media. He also speculated about the scenario of being in a wartime situation and its implications on future elections.

In a separate address to Republican leaders, Trump falsely claimed to have won the state of Minnesota in all his previous election bids. Additionally, he questioned the possibility of running in the 2028 election, hinting at a potential constitutional amendment.

These remarks come amidst growing concerns about Trump’s attitude towards the electoral process and his intentions regarding future elections.
