Born in Brazil to German parents in 1922, Walter initially left school at 15 to support his family financially and later secured a job as a packing assistant. Throughout his tenure, he advanced to roles in sales and eventually excelled as a Sales Manager.
Brazil’s stringent labor regulations played a role in Walter’s extended career, with public pension rules dictating retirement ages and contribution thresholds. Despite these guidelines, private-sector employees can continue working after receiving pensions, unlike civil servants who face mandatory retirement at specific ages.
Walter passed away at the age of 102 in August 2024, having never opted to retire from his job.
