Struggling households residing in Worcestershire are encouraged to check their eligibility for potential support of up to £500 towards energy bills. To qualify, residents must live in specific districts within Worcestershire, such as Malvern, Worcester, Wychavon, Bromsgrove, Redditch, or Wyre Forest, and have an annual gross household income of £24,570 or less if single without children. The income limit for other households is £31,000, excluding any existing benefits.

Applicants must not have any household savings and meet at least one of five vulnerability criteria, such as receiving DWP benefits, being of state pension age, or having children under four years old. Eligible households with children under 18 or young adults up to 21 in full-time education can receive up to £500, while other households may receive up to £300 in support.

The energy assistance will be distributed directly to the energy supplier or through Post Office vouchers for pre-payment customers. Interested individuals can apply for this program via the Act On Energy website. This initiative is part of the Household Support Fund managed by Worcestershire County Council to aid vulnerable families in need.

Residents outside Worcestershire facing financial challenges are advised to inquire with their local council about available support options. For instance, Surrey County Council is providing supermarket vouchers worth up to £300, redeemable at various supermarkets including Aldi, Asda, Morrisons, Tesco, and Waitrose.

In a similar effort, Nottingham City Council is offering £100 vouchers to low-income or benefit-receiving individuals, with distribution ongoing until February 28, 2026. Wakefield Council is assisting households with food vouchers, and pensioners receiving Council Tax Support have already received a £70 voucher. Additionally, families receiving Council Tax Support will receive vouchers ranging from £50 to £70 based on specific timelines provided by Wakefield Council.
