A tragic incident unfolded in Lohne, Germany, where a 33-year-old man was discovered dead in a ditch after being attacked by his own American Bulldog while out for a walk. The man’s body was found by a passerby, with the dog refusing to leave his side even when doctors and paramedics arrived at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the man’s injuries were consistent with a dog attack, leading them to believe that his pet was responsible for his death. The American Bulldog was later taken into custody and is currently being held at an animal shelter for evaluation. Emergency responders faced challenges in providing assistance due to the dog’s protective behavior.
According to dog expert Vanessa Bokr, the attack may have occurred when the dog was prevented from chasing something, causing it to become agitated and turn on its owner. American Bulldogs have been associated with fatal incidents in various countries, including recent cases in the US and the UK.
In a separate incident in the US, a toddler tragically lost his life after entering an American Bulldog enclosure at his grandmother’s house in New York Mills, Minnesota. The child sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to the hospital. The grandmother also suffered injuries while trying to intervene, leading to the dog being euthanized at the family’s request.
Furthermore, in the UK, a baby required urgent surgery after being bitten on the face by the family’s American Bulldog in Doncaster. The one-year-old suffered serious facial injuries and had reportedly shown previous aggression towards the child. The dog is currently in a kennel awaiting further assessment as the investigation continues.
