Vodafone Introduces New Scam Call Protection Service to Combat Phone Scams
Dealing with unwanted phone calls can be a major hassle for smartphone users. Recent data reveals that the average UK consumer faces around eight nuisance calls monthly, with many of these calls attempting to extract sensitive personal information and credit card details for fraudulent purposes.
To address this issue and enhance customer safety, Vodafone has unveiled its latest solution, Scam Call Protection. This innovative feature leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to detect and flag potential scam, spam, and fraudulent calls automatically.
Operating discreetly in the background, the system scrutinizes all incoming calls. If any suspicious activity is detected, users will receive a clear on-screen notification alerting them to the potential scam call.
Rob Winterschladen, Consumer Director at VodafoneThree, highlighted the growing challenge of identifying scam calls, emphasizing the importance of staying vigilant. He stated, “Scam Call Protection on Vodafone Secure Net Mobile offers customers an additional layer of security by continuously monitoring calls for known and suspected scam activity. This enhancement reinforces our commitment to providing robust digital security features that empower users to feel more secure and in control of their online experiences.”
The Scam Call Protection service is integrated into Vodafone’s Secure Net Mobile platform, which also includes advanced parental controls, round-the-clock identity monitoring for protection against identity theft, and real-time virus and malware detection.
Interested individuals can experience the benefits of this service free of charge for an initial three-month trial period. Following the trial, the service is available at a monthly rate of £2.
By incorporating Scam Call Protection into its offerings, Vodafone aims to equip users with the tools they need to combat phone scams effectively and ensure a safer digital environment.
