In Brest, France, a 33-year-old woman with three children fathered by her own father has been detained before trial for assaulting a public service officer. The woman, who had suffered years of abuse herself, was under judicial supervision following her father’s imprisonment for sexually abusing her and coercing their son to engage in sexual acts with her, as confirmed by police investigations.
The case came to light after the Finistère Departmental Council reported the abuses, leading to a thorough police inquiry. Interviews with the children, an 11-year-old boy and his eight-year-old twin sisters, substantiated the claims, revealing a history of abuse in a violent and abnormal household. The children were taken into care by social services, with the boy granted 30 days of temporary incapacity leave and the girls eight days.
The mother, charged with habitual violence and corrupting a minor, had a previous incident of violence against a court clerk two years ago. Her recent attack on an officer resulted in her detention at Brest prison, where her father is also held. The father is facing charges of aggravated incestuous rape, corruption of a minor, and habitual violence against minors, having confessed to the accusations.
Both parents are considered innocent during the ongoing investigations, which have attracted significant attention due to the severity of the crimes and the abuse inflicted on multiple children in the same family. The public prosecutor in Brest, Stéphane Kellenberger, emphasized that investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the abuse and the circumstances surrounding it.
