Tyson Fury has dismissed the possibility of facing Agit Kabayel and Joseph Parker as he prepares for his boxing comeback. The 36-year-old former heavyweight, who briefly retired in January following defeats to Oleksandr Usyk, is now set for a return to the ring next year.
While fans eagerly anticipate Fury’s return, he has clarified that no fights will happen this year. Speaking at BoxFest recently, Fury revealed his plans for a comeback in the upcoming year, emphasizing his busy schedule with filming commitments for “At Home With The Furys! Season 2” on Netflix.
Expressing his intentions for the future, Fury proclaimed his readiness for a comeback next year, highlighting his age and the challenges posed by younger fighters. Despite his openness to new challenges, Fury has unequivocally stated his refusal to engage in bouts against Kabayel or Parker.
Fury, a two-time heavyweight champion, holds both Kabayel and Parker in high esteem, describing them as future world heavyweight champions. He conveyed his respect for the fighters but firmly stated his unwillingness to fight them for any amount of money.
Looking ahead, Fury has identified Usyk and Anthony Joshua as potential opponents for his comeback fights. The long-anticipated clash with Joshua has yet to materialize, with Fury expressing his desire for significant bouts in the future.
Although Fury has ruled out a matchup with Parker, the possibility of Usyk defending his titles against the New Zealand boxer could complicate Fury’s plans. Promoter Frank Warren hinted at a potential bout between Usyk and Parker, setting the stage for an intriguing showdown in the heavyweight division.
In a recent announcement, Fury confirmed his third fight with Usyk scheduled for April 18, 2026, at Wembley Stadium. Despite previous encounters with Usyk, Fury remains steadfast in his belief that he won the rematch decisively and is eager for a fair result in future bouts.
In the realm of British boxing, Fury’s return promises exciting matchups and renewed rivalries, setting the stage for compelling narratives in the heavyweight division.
