Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua have reportedly reached an agreement to face off in an exciting heavyweight clash, with key details now public. Previously, it was rumored that the long-standing rivalry between the two would be settled in the boxing ring in 2026. However, shortly after his victorious knockout against Jake Paul over the recent Christmas holiday, Joshua was involved in a tragic car accident in Nigeria, leading to the unfortunate deaths of two close friends.

Despite concerns that Joshua’s boxing career might be over following the accident, the former heavyweight world champion is now back in light training and considering a comeback to the ring this summer. Speculations suggest that Joshua may first fight Dillian Whyte before a potential showdown with Fury.

As per boxing journalist Gareth A Davies, both Fury and Joshua have confirmed their upcoming bout. Davies shared on talkSPORT that the fight has been officially signed and agreed upon behind the scenes. Moreover, he mentioned the possibility of the fight being broadcast on Netflix, likely happening later this year or early next year, with Joshua aiming to return to action in June or July.

Netflix is set to broadcast Fury’s comeback on April 11. Fury, who previously announced his retirement from boxing but later reversed the decision, is scheduled to face the formidable Russian fighter Arslanbek Makhmudov at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Netflix’s involvement in boxing has been growing, showcasing prominent fights like Paul vs Joshua, Alvarez vs Crawford, Taylor vs Serrano, and Paul vs Tyson.

Joshua is progressing towards full training for a potential return to the ring later this year. Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, expressed optimism about the heavyweight clash between Fury and Joshua still being feasible despite the setbacks. While the initial plan was for Joshua to fight Fury in August, his return to the ring is now expected in late summer. The potential Fury fight could happen towards the end of the year or early 2027.
