Snooker player Stuart Bingham is gearing up for eye surgery to enhance his professional career longevity. The former world champion intends to undergo a lens replacement procedure soon.

Currently ranked 21st globally, the 49-year-old Bingham is optimistic that addressing his eyesight issues will enable him to compete at a high level for an extended period. Following his recent exit from the Saudi Arabia Snooker Masters, where he narrowly lost in the last 16, Bingham acknowledged his worsening eyesight and the need for intervention.

Bingham, a seasoned snooker player with an impressive career, including notable achievements in the sport, has been prioritizing his health. He underwent a significant weight loss earlier this year and made adjustments to his cue placement. Now, he sees improving his vision as a potential catalyst for enhancing his snooker performance.

In discussions with fellow player Judd Trump, who underwent laser eye surgery, Bingham shared his decision to opt for lens replacement surgery due to deteriorating eyesight. Despite facing challenges in his game this season, Bingham remains hopeful that this step will positively impact his gameplay and overall quality of life.

Additionally, Bingham has dealt with performance issues, including the yips, during the year. Seeking solutions, he collaborated with hypnotherapist Chris O’Connor to address these challenges.

As Bingham prepares for the upcoming season, he aims to regain confidence in his game with the hope that the eye surgery will be a turning point in his career.
