The annual Uswitch awards were recently presented at an elegant event held in London’s Canary Wharf, revealing some unexpected winners. These accolades are determined by a panel of esteemed judges, including Mirror Online’s Technology Editor, in addition to input from the general public. Surprisingly, smaller mobile networks focused on value emerged victorious in the 2026 Uswitch rankings.
VOXI, Tesco Mobile, Lebara, and giffgaff were standout performers, clinching titles such as Mobile Network of the Year, Best Mobile Network for Customer Service, and Best Mobile Network for Roaming. In the broadband category, EE surprisingly claimed the top spot as National Broadband Provider of the Year, despite being renowned for its mobile services.
Other successful broadband providers included YouFibre, Plusnet, Vodafone, and Virgin Media. According to Ernest Doku, a telecoms expert at Uswitch, the current trend in 2026 emphasizes the importance of receiving the best value for money rather than solely focusing on the lowest price.
The Uswitch Telecoms Awards aim to assist consumers in finding the most suitable deals, whether prioritizing affordability or specific service requirements. Notably, EE secured the title of the Fastest Mobile Network Overall among the winners in various categories.
