Sharon Osbourne is planning to honor her late husband Ozzy’s memory by organizing an annual concert in his honor. An official request has been submitted to trademark the event named ‘Back to the Beginning,’ which commemorated Ozzy Osbourne’s final live performance alongside the original Black Sabbath lineup and various other notable bands.
The company established by Ozzy is seeking legal protection in the U.S. for the concert title under the category of “live musical performance entertainment services.” Additionally, they are looking to trademark the title for merchandise, with a similar application forthcoming in the UK.
The concert, held at Villa Park in Birmingham just 17 days before Ozzy’s passing, raised significant funds for charity. The proceeds from the event will be equally distributed among three charitable organizations: Acorns Children’s Hospice, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Cure Parkinson’s.
Ozzy Osbourne, whose real name was John Michael Osbourne, passed away at the age of 76 after battling Parkinson’s disease since 2019. He was laid to rest beside a lake on his Buckinghamshire estate, where a wreath bearing the message “Ozzy f***ing Osbourne” was placed by the water’s edge during a ceremony attended by Sharon, their children, and close friends.
Reflecting on the concert, Ozzy’s son Jack shared his emotional experience of watching his father’s final performance at ‘Back to the Beginning.’ He expressed his profound sadness at realizing it was their last time together and described it as a poignant farewell moment for everyone present.
The event featured performances by Guns N’ Roses and Metallica, along with heartfelt video messages from celebrities like Jack Black, Ricky Gervais, and Dolly Parton. Notable figures such as Ozzy’s Black Sabbath bandmates, Metallica’s James Hetfield, and Sir Elton John also paid their respects at his funeral.
