Canadian actor Simu Liu, known for his role in Marvel’s “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” has recently gotten married to music industry executive Allison Hsu. The couple exchanged vows over the weekend, as confirmed by Liu’s publicist to CBC News on Tuesday. The festivities were initially reported by TMZ to have taken place in France.

Having publicly announced their engagement in May 2025 during a trip to Paris, Liu and Hsu have been romantically involved since late 2022. Their relationship milestones, including wedding-related events in Mexico and a visit to Paris, have been shared on social media. Liu has spoken fondly about their partnership in various interviews, emphasizing the support and care they provide each other.

Originally from China and raised in Toronto, Liu is gearing up to reprise his role as Shang-Chi in the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Doomsday.” His portrayal of the Chinese superhero has propelled him to global fame, following his success in the CBC comedy “Kim’s Convenience” where he played Jung Kim. Liu has also diversified his projects by taking on roles in films like “Barbie,” voice acting in “In Your Dreams,” and starring in the spy series “The Copenhagen Test.”

Additionally, Liu recently delved into theatre with his Broadway debut in the Tony-winning comedy “Oh, Mary!” earlier this year. In discussions about Asian representation in Hollywood, Liu has highlighted the need for more diversity in leading roles, pointing out the industry’s conservative mindset towards new talent.
