A possible meeting between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, is becoming more likely as both are expected to be in London today. Charles was anticipated to return from Balmoral to the capital last night but is now likely to come back later today. Meanwhile, Harry is scheduled to visit Imperial College London for an event at the Centre for Blast Injury Studies, a project he inaugurated 12 years ago, possibly creating an opportunity for a long-awaited reunion.

However, Prince William, who is also estranged from his brother, is in Cardiff today for World Suicide Prevention Day, approximately 150 miles away from Harry and Charles, making a chance encounter unlikely. The King and his youngest son have not met in nearly 20 months since Harry hurried to the UK upon learning of his father’s cancer diagnosis in February 2024.

Both parties are reportedly interested in a meeting, with a source close to the Duke of Sussex expressing Harry’s desire for family reconciliation. Although Buckingham Palace and Harry’s office have declined to comment on any scheduled meeting between the two.

Harry has voiced his wish to mend relationships with his family but acknowledged that certain members may never forgive him, especially after the controversies surrounding his memoir and public statements. He revealed that Charles had stopped communicating with him due to a legal dispute over security, expressing uncertainty about his father’s health.

During his visit to the UK, Harry is staying at a hotel at his own expense as he reportedly has not been offered accommodations at any royal residence. He has openly admitted that some family members may never forgive him for various issues raised in his interviews and publications. Despite the challenges, he expressed a desire for reconciliation with his family.

In a positive development, senior aides to the King and Harry were seen together in London in July, indicating efforts to establish communication between the two sides. Harry is expected to remain in the UK until tomorrow before departing. During his trip, he announced a personal donation of £1.1 million to support young people affected by violence, emphasizing the importance of collective action to effect real change.
