Prince Harry was seen with a cheerful demeanor during a visit in London, while reports suggest that King Charles is also returning to the capital, sparking speculation about a potential reconciliation between the father and son.

The Duke of Sussex visited the Centre for Blast Injury Studies to receive updates on research related to pediatric blast and crush injuries, as well as to engage in discussions about the mental health impacts of war.

This marks Harry’s third visit to the Centre for Blast Injury Studies, where he previously inaugurated the laboratories in 2013 and participated in the Blast Injury Conference in 2019.

During today’s visit, the focus was on the center’s recent work concerning child amputees and how knowledge can be applied in conflict and disaster zones. Following a tour of the facility, the Duke is expected to participate in a roundtable discussion on mental health and medical evacuation in war settings.

The research being conducted is part of the Paediatric Blast Injury Partnership, a collaborative effort between Imperial College London and Save the Children aimed at developing guidance and training for healthcare professionals handling children affected by blast and crush injuries.

This visit follows Prince Harry’s recent trip to Nottingham’s Community Recording Studio, where he highlighted the challenges faced by young people in communities affected by violence and made a generous donation of £1.1 million to BBC Children in Need.

Both Prince Harry and King Charles are expected to be in London today, raising the possibility of a long-awaited reunion between the two. An opportunity for a meeting has been scheduled between Harry’s engagements this afternoon and an undisclosed one this evening.

The last time the royal father and son met was almost 20 months ago when Harry rushed to the UK to see King Charles after his cancer diagnosis in February 2024. Sources close to the Duke of Sussex express his desire for reconciliation and a potential meeting with his family.

Efforts are underway to facilitate a reconciliation between Charles and Harry, signaling a positive step towards resolving their differences. Despite ongoing family issues, there is optimism that a reunion between father and son is on the horizon.

While Prince William and Harry are not expected to meet during Harry’s visit to the UK, they commemorated the late Queen’s death separately on the third anniversary. Harry paid a private visit to his grandmother’s grave in Windsor, while William and Kate honored her memory at a Women’s Institute branch in Sunningdale.
