This festive season, many people are considering purchasing tins of chocolates to share with loved ones or enjoy themselves. However, the prices of popular brands like Cadbury Roses and Heroes have seen a significant increase. During a recent supermarket visit, it was surprising to find 700g tins of these chocolates priced at £16.50.

While a Nectar card can offer a discounted rate of £10 for these tins, the overall cost remains higher than expected. Fortunately, Sainsbury’s offers more affordable options for chocolate tins, such as the Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Mixed Chunks Tin (60g) for £9.59 or £6.50 with a Nectar card, and a 750g tin of Quality Street for £13 or £8.50 with Nectar.

Alternatively, shoppers can opt for 500-550g tubs of Celebrations, Heroes, and Quality Street for just £6 each. For even better deals, Tesco currently sells these tubs for £3.95 with a Clubcard, including the same Heroes tin priced at £7.50 with a Clubcard, significantly lower than Sainsbury’s.

Recent findings have identified Asda as the most budget-friendly supermarket for Christmas chocolate tubs, selling standard tubs of Heroes, Roses, and Celebrations for under £5. Morrisons follows closely with a price of £7, or £5.50 with a Morrisons More Card. Tesco also offers competitive prices, with Celebrations and Quality Street available for £3.95 with a Clubcard, and Roses and Heroes for £7 or £5.25 with a Clubcard. Aldi and Lidl are additional options where tubs can be purchased for under £5.

Notably, Marks and Spencer and Waitrose do not stock traditional tubs online but provide smaller pouch-sized packets and alternative festive chocolates within the price range of approximately £4 to £10.
