Pat Cash criticized Taylor Fritz for his lack of friends on the tennis tour following his behavior at Wimbledon. Fritz is scheduled to compete against long-time rival Carlos Alcaraz at the Six Kings Slam tournament. Alcaraz had previously defeated Fritz in the semi-finals of SW19 this summer.
The tension between Fritz and Arthur Rinderknech began at Roland Garros in 2023 when Fritz shushed the crowd after beating Rinderknech. Rinderknech commented before Wimbledon 2024 that Fritz complained about the noise and expected a different response from the crowd.
After defeating Rinderknech at Wimbledon, Fritz exchanged words with him, expressing his dissatisfaction with Rinderknech’s behavior before the match. Pat Cash criticized Fritz for his actions, stating that he lacks camaraderie on the tour.
Despite his win at Wimbledon, Fritz was eliminated in the quarter-finals by Lorenzo Musetti. Fritz will face Alcaraz at the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh, aiming for redemption after losing to him at the Japan Open. Alcaraz is recovering from an ankle injury sustained in Japan but is determined to perform well in the tournament.
