Georgia Hunter Bell recently visited Ealing Southall & Middlesex Athletics Club, where she began her athletic journey, to share her expertise with young athletes. The Olympic bronze medallist in the 1500m event added a silver medal in the 800m at the world championships in Tokyo, narrowly beating her training partner Keely Hodgkinson.
During her visit, Hunter Bell conducted training sessions for the youngsters, engaged in a Q&A session, and emphasized the importance of bravery in competition. She highlighted the significance of taking risks and maintaining discipline in areas such as sleep, hydration, and recovery, stressing the need to prioritize rest and avoid late-night scrolling on phones.
Having left her cybersecurity job to focus on athletics, Hunter Bell’s success on the global stage validates her decision. She encouraged aspiring athletes at the club to stay focused on their individual paths and not compare themselves to others, emphasizing the value of hard work and consistency in reaching the highest levels of competition.
The club members were thrilled to have Hunter Bell visit, following in the footsteps of former Ealing athlete Dame Kelly Holmes in representing their nation with distinction. ESM membership manager Peter Flewitt expressed pride in Hunter Bell’s achievements and the impact of her visit on inspiring the next generation of athletes, underscoring the message that with dedication, training, and belief, anything is possible.
