The prestigious National Television Awards have returned, bringing together top presenters, actors, and reality stars at London’s O2 Arena. Notably absent this year are the stars of Strictly Come Dancing, who opted out of the event following controversy surrounding contestant Thomas Skinner’s departure. The dance competition, with three nominations, will not be represented at the awards ceremony as the contestants are currently busy with filming commitments.
Despite the absence of the Strictly stars, the event will be graced by celebrities including comedian Joel Dommett, who will be hosting the awards show once again. Among the early arrivals on the red carpet were close friends Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks, showcasing their camaraderie with a friendly kiss on the cheek for the cameras.
In the previous year, Emmerdale clinched the Best Serial Drama award, triumphing over competitors such as Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, Casualty, and EastEnders.
