Police have initiated an inquiry into the mysterious deaths of a social media influencer and her teenage daughter, whose bodies were discovered after concerned neighbors alerted the authorities.
Lidiane Aline Lorenco, aged 33, and her 15-year-old daughter, Miana Sophya Santos, were tragically found deceased in their 11th-floor apartment following reports of an unusual smell emanating from the residence.
After residents expressed worry over not seeing or hearing from the mother and daughter for an extended period, the Fire Department was called to the apartment building in Rio de Janeiro. Upon receiving no response, the authorities forced entry into the unit. Subsequently, Lidiane was found in a bedroom and Miana in the living room, both believed to have been deceased for some time.
The Rio de Janeiro Civil Police have stated that they are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths. Lidiane, an influencer and model with a significant following on Instagram, had also been pursuing a medical degree prior to her demise.
Having relocated to Rio de Janeiro from Santa Cecília several years ago, Lidiane lived independently. Meanwhile, Miana had been attending the Irma Irene Basic Education School in Santa Cecília before recently moving to the Rio apartment with her mother.
In a separate incident, the family of a woman who tragically passed away alongside her boyfriend in a scalding bathtub at a motel in Sao Jose, Brazil, have voiced concerns about the mysterious circumstances of her death.
Ana Carolina Silva, a 41-year-old nail salon owner, and military officer Jeferson Luiz Sagaz, aged 37, were discovered deceased in their motel room bathtub on August 11. The couple had been celebrating their daughter’s fourth birthday and partying at a nightclub before their untimely demise.
Authorities were alerted when the couple failed to collect their daughter the next day. Upon investigation, officials found the couple lifeless in the motel bathtub, with no visible signs of injury. Toxicology reports revealed the presence of cocaine and high levels of alcohol in their systems, indicating they had passed out in the scorching water.
The Chief Medical Examiner confirmed that the cause of death for both individuals was exogenous poisoning due to heat exposure, leading to organ failure and death. Despite concerns raised by Ana’s family about potential forced drug ingestion, forensic tests ruled out other possible causes of death.
Ana’s family strongly refuted claims of her being a drug user and demanded a thorough and unbiased investigation to uncover the truth behind the tragic incident. They emphasized the importance of preserving Ana’s memory and dignity while seeking justice for their loss.
