A woman who had been missing since Christmas Day has been found deceased in Hanley’s Central Forest Park. Authorities believe the body discovered on Saturday to be that of Lisa Nixon from Stoke-on-Trent, aged 46. Lisa was last seen on Waterloo Road in Hanley at 2:30 pm on Christmas Day, with her passing currently under unexplained circumstances.
Her family has been notified and is receiving support from specialized officers, although formal identification is pending. Lisa was also spotted in the Birches Head area on Christmas Eve before her last confirmed sighting the following day.
A statement from Staffordshire Police confirmed the discovery of the body in the search for Lisa, who was reported missing on January 3. The police are treating her death as unexplained and are preparing a file for the coroner.
The investigation is ongoing, and individuals with relevant information, CCTV footage, or any helpful details are urged to come forward. Witnesses can contact the authorities by dialing 101 and quoting incident number 280 from January 17. Anonymous tips can also be provided to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
Meanwhile, concerns have arisen regarding a 58-year-old British man named Kenny Robertson, who went missing on January 5 while in Thailand. Kenny’s family stated that his last contact was from Bangkok Airport on that day, followed by a brief email sent to a friend three days later. He has not been seen or heard from since, and he was traveling alone in Thailand.
According to his relatives, it is unusual for Kenny not to maintain communication. His plans included exploring Thailand on his own for several weeks before volunteering at a dog sanctuary, which has not received any communication from him.
A friend, Jordan McLeod, shared an appeal on Facebook seeking information on Kenny’s whereabouts. A missing persons poster describing Kenny as 5ft 6in tall and wearing glasses was circulated on social media to aid in the search efforts.
