Mystery shrouds the deaths of a social media influencer and her teenage daughter in Rio de Janeiro. Lidiane Lorenço, aged 33, and her 15-year-old daughter Miana Sophya were discovered deceased in their Barra da Tijuca apartment on October 10. The bodies were found in different rooms, with no evident signs of violence reported by Brazilian media, citing the local police department, 16th DP.
Following a forensic examination conducted on Friday, the family’s attorney expressed that more questions than answers have arisen regarding the case. According to G1, lawyer Rodrigo Moulin stated that the examination raised further uncertainties as the police are being cautious and exploring all possibilities.
After a three-hour forensic investigation, Moulin revealed that the only confirmed irregularity was in the apartment’s gas installations. He highlighted that the heating system was improperly installed, with the gas chimney outlet located within the apartment itself.
Moulin emphasized that various hypotheses are being considered, including food-related factors, and stressed the need to await the forensic results for a conclusive understanding. Lidiane had moved to Rio a few years ago for studies in medicine and pursued a career as a model and social media influencer. Miana had joined her mother in Rio after living in São Paulo and attending the EEB Irmã Irene school.
Local authorities initially stated that there was no indication of assault following the forensic examination at the scene. Moulin mentioned the significance of the death certificate in determining the cause of death, particularly considering the underlying health conditions of both individuals. Lidiane had thrombophilia, a condition increasing clot formation risk, while Miana had hemophilia, a rare disorder affecting blood clotting.
The lawyer suggested a possibility that Miana might have passed away before Lidiane, based on the differences in decomposition states of their bodies.
