Police are in search of a ruthless murder gang believed to be behind the tragic deaths of two young boys. The victims, a 12-year-old and a 15-year-old named Dau Akueng, were brutally killed in what appears to be a gang assault. Shockingly, one of the boys had his hand severed during the attack, which occurred near Melbourne, Australia.
Authorities discovered the lifeless bodies of the teens at two different locations within 200 meters of each other in Cobblebank. The 12-year-old was fatally stabbed, while Dau suffered mutilation injuries before being found dead. The families revealed that the boys were walking home from a basketball game with friends when the tragic incident occurred.
Initially thought to be separate targeted attacks, the police later classified the deaths as a youth gang crime. Detective Inspector Graham Banks noted that the assailants, believed to be around eight masked men wielding machetes and other weapons, concealed their identities and fled in a vehicle. The inspector emphasized the severity of the violence, labeling it as one of the most appalling crimes in a series of similar incidents involving youth gangs.
Heartbroken by the loss of his son, Elbino, Dau’s father, lamented the lack of answers from the authorities regarding such incidents. A family friend described Dau as a bright and deserving boy, expressing deep sorrow over his untimely death and urging swift police action to uncover the truth and bring justice for the victims.
The Collingwood Basketball Association, where Dau was actively involved, mourned his passing, highlighting the impact of his loss on the community. Police have pledged full dedication to the investigation, vowing to apprehend the culprits in the days to come to seek justice for the tragic deaths.
