A man, identified as Mihai Nicolae Patran, was convicted of sexually assaulting a doctor in a late-night incident on the streets of Glasgow. During his initial court appearance, Patran was witnessed engaging in inappropriate behavior while seated in the dock next to a female prison custody officer. The victim, a 27-year-old doctor who had recently relocated to the city, recounted her harrowing experience at Glasgow High Court.
The doctor described how she was accosted while walking through Glasgow city center late at night. Feeling scared and vulnerable, she eventually managed to escape and seek help from a passing taxi. The court heard her detailed recollection of the traumatic events that unfolded on that fateful night.
Despite Patran’s defense claiming consent, the court found him guilty on all charges related to the assault. Furthermore, it was revealed that Patran had previously exposed himself to a woman on a train in a separate incident. Following the verdict, Patran was placed on the sex offenders register and awaits sentencing while in custody. The presiding sheriff and law enforcement were alerted to Patran’s concerning behavior in the courtroom, leading to additional scrutiny of his actions.
