Katie Price is currently facing worries about the well-being of her kittens following the death of one and the need for emergency veterinary care for the others. The 47-year-old former model has previously faced criticism and petitions calling for a ban on her ownership of pets.
Recently, Katie’s sphynx cat Doris gave birth to a litter of kittens, but unfortunately, one of them passed away shortly after birth, making it the eighth animal to die under Katie’s care. The remaining kittens have experienced health issues and had to be hand-fed by Katie and her boyfriend JJ Salter after Doris developed an infection that required her to be on antibiotics, preventing her from nursing her offspring.
Despite these challenges, Katie has embarked on her UK tour with Kerry Katona, bringing the four kittens along. However, during the tour, a distressing incident occurred when JJ discovered the kittens in a weakened state, prompting an immediate trip to the emergency veterinary clinic.
In an update shared on Snapchat, Katie expressed concern about the deteriorating health of the kittens, mentioning that they had been taken to the vet multiple times for care. Fortunately, after being kept overnight, Doris showed signs of improvement, although Katie has not provided an update on the kittens’ condition.
A spokesperson for Katie confirmed that she has been closely following veterinary advice in caring for the kittens. The RSPCA recommends keeping kittens with their mother until they are at least eight to nine weeks old for optimal health and socialization.
Despite the challenges, Katie remains devoted to the kittens, detailing the difficulties they have faced and the emotional toll it has taken on her. She emphasized the bond she shares with the kittens, highlighting their importance to her.
