This year’s Oscar nominations will be announced on January 22, and Julia Roberts is expected to be a strong contender for the Best Actress category for her role in the psychological thriller “After The Hunt.” The film, available on Amazon Prime Video, showcases a new facet of Julia’s career as she portrays Yale professor Alma Imhoff, who grapples with a shocking accusation made by a student against one of her colleagues played by Andrew Garfield.

If Julia secures the prestigious accolade, it will be her second Oscar win at the age of 58, having previously triumphed in 2001 for her performance in “Erin Brockovich.” Despite this, many fans still associate her primarily with her iconic role as Vivian in “Pretty Woman,” a film that propelled her to international stardom more than three decades ago.

Surprisingly, both Julia and co-star Richard Gere had doubts about the success of “Pretty Woman.” They felt uncertain about their performances during filming, with Julia recalling moments of uncertainty and spontaneity on set. Director Garry Marshall encouraged her to be amusing, leading to a light-hearted and improvisational atmosphere during shooting.

The film’s unexpected success upon its release in 1990 elevated Julia to superstardom. Her subsequent roles in films like “Notting Hill” solidified her place in Hollywood. Despite her achievements, Julia remains humble and reflects on her experiences, including the challenges and joys of working with renowned actors in the Ocean’s Eleven series.

Julia’s personal life, including her marriage to cinematographer Daniel Moder and their three children, has also been influential in shaping her career choices. Looking ahead, Julia expresses a desire to explore theater and focus on projects that resonate with her on a deeper level, emphasizing quality over quantity in her future endeavors.

With a diverse filmography and a wealth of experiences in the industry, Julia Roberts continues to captivate audiences with her talent and versatility, paving the way for new and exciting opportunities in her acting career.
