Authorities located the vehicle involved in the crash after it fled the scene, leading to the arrest of a man in his twenties on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop, and driving while unfit. The incident drew a significant emergency response with fire engines, police cars, ambulance crews, and a helicopter attending the scene.

In a statement, Avon and Somerset Police confirmed their investigation into the fatal collision, expressing condolences to the deceased’s family and emphasizing ongoing support for them.
