Fashion retailer Quiz has gone into administration, resulting in the loss of 109 jobs. Job cuts are happening at its head office in Glasgow and warehouse in Lanarkshire. The Quiz website is now offline, and customers are being informed that any pending online orders will be canceled.
For refunds, Quiz is directing customers to contact their bank or credit card provider. Customers who paid over £100 with a credit card may be eligible for a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act. Those who used a debit card or spent £100 or less on a credit card within the last 120 days may be able to claim a refund through Chargeback.
Alternatively, Quiz is offering customers the option to exchange unwanted items in-store for products of equal value. The company has closed its online store and is no longer processing new orders. Quiz stores are still open, and stock clearance sales are taking place, although gift cards are not being accepted.
Quiz, founded in 1993 in Glasgow, Scotland, by Tarak Ramzan, has 40 stores across the UK and concessions in New Look and Matalan stores. The company also has seven concessions in the Republic of Ireland, which are part of the administration process. Alistair McAlinden and Geoff Jacobs from Interpath have been appointed as joint administrators.
McAlinden stated that they intend to keep trading all stores and concessions in Ireland while exploring options for the business. Jacobs emphasized the importance of interested parties reaching out urgently regarding acquiring Quiz’s stock, operations, and infrastructure. The administrators are committed to supporting affected employees during this challenging period.
