From his first day at HMP Wakefield, notorious sex offender Ian Watkins faced threats from fellow inmates. In Monster Mansion, inmates typically refrain from discussing their crimes, but Watkins’ infamous background as the disgraced frontman of Lostprophets made him a well-known target due to his despicable offenses.

In 2013, Watkins received a 29-year sentence for committing 13 appalling sex crimes that included trying to rape and sexually assault children under 13 years old, with one victim as young as 10 months. Shockingly, authorities discovered that Watkins possessed an extensive collection of child abuse materials, totaling 27 terabytes of data, hidden behind encryption, with a disturbing reference to child abuse as his password.

Despite his imprisonment, Watkins displayed no remorse, maintaining a selfish and isolated demeanor until his recent death in prison. Despite his vile actions, he oddly retained a following of young female admirers who visited him regularly, perpetuating his twisted fantasy.

Inside his cell, Watkins accumulated a trove of letters from various women, some detailing explicit sexual fantasies. The inexplicable loyalty of these individuals to a dangerous pedophile baffled many. Watkins’ notoriety and interactions with women only amplified the dangers he faced in prison, where he lived in constant fear of retribution.

In a separate incident in 2019, Watkins received an additional 10-month sentence for possessing a mobile phone in prison, which he used to contact a former girlfriend. Despite her initial avoidance of him due to his crimes, she rekindled communication through letters and calls, leading to further legal trouble for Watkins.

Ultimately, Watkins’ time in prison culminated in a brutal attack by three inmates, leaving him critically injured and requiring urgent medical intervention. Despite his financial resources, Watkins faced daily abuse behind bars, ultimately meeting a tragic end at the hands of fellow inmates. The news of his demise was met with little sympathy among his incarcerated peers, who viewed him with disdain for his abhorrent crimes.
