A convict who escaped from prison has been apprehended by the authorities, as confirmed by the police. Kieran Cameron, aged 43, absconded from HMP Thorn Cross in Warrington, located between Liverpool and Manchester, on January 6. He was serving a 23-year sentence for attempting murder in Dorset back in 2016.
Cheshire Police had sought public assistance in locating Cameron and advised against approaching him. However, in a recent update, the police announced that he was found and arrested in the Hulme area of Greater Manchester. The police statement expressed satisfaction with Cameron’s capture by officers from the Cheshire Police Serious and Organised Crime unit.
Cameron had been convicted for his involvement in a violent assault in February 2016, where he and another individual, Michael O’Rourke, brutally stabbed a 22-year-old man from Poole multiple times. The court revealed that both perpetrators had been threatened by a rival gang and sought to frame their victim to incriminate their adversaries. The victim sustained ten stab wounds to various body parts during the attack.
Detective Sergeant Jamie Halford from Bournemouth CID commended the court’s decision, emphasizing the severity of knife-related violence and underscoring the commitment of law enforcement to investigate and prosecute such heinous acts. Halford also praised the swift actions of bystanders who aided the victim and the medical staff at Poole Hospital for their exemplary treatment.
