A massive snake, suspected to be a python, startled a dog walker at a well-known beauty spot recently. Charlotte Smith, 31, encountered the reptile while walking her dog Ella at Bargoed Common in Wales. The dog found the snake and attempted to roll on it, prompting Charlotte to react swiftly, grabbing her pet and taking photos of the snake.
Describing the encounter, Charlotte estimated the snake to be approximately one and a half meters long. Despite not being afraid of snakes, she was cautious due to adders in the area and called out for help. Charlotte speculated that the snake may have been abandoned, given its presence in an unusual location.
Expressing her concern, Charlotte mentioned that the snake seemed out of place, being far from any residential area. She shared her belief that the snake was likely placed there intentionally to cause a scare. Charlotte made efforts to find the snake’s owner by posting images online, suspecting foul play or an unfortunate accident leading to the snake’s presence.
Charlotte notified the authorities, including Gwent Police and the RSPCA, about the incident. While the snake could not be saved, she stressed the importance of respecting all animals, including reptiles. She highlighted the need for awareness and empathy towards snakes, stating that people often neglect their welfare compared to other animals like puppies.
The discovery of the snake prompted discussions on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership. Charlotte’s actions underscored the significance of respecting and caring for all creatures, regardless of public perception.
