Families receiving benefits like Universal Credit can access discounted tickets to popular London attractions starting from just £1. The summer holidays can strain household finances, with a Utility Warehouse survey indicating parents might spend an average of £611 extra over the six-week break.

To alleviate this financial pressure, it is wise to save where possible. Many top attractions offer reduced-price tickets for Universal Credit claimants. For instance, London Zoo provides tickets starting at £3 for children and £6 for adults, significantly lower than the standard prices.

Kew Gardens, known for its extensive plant collection, offers entry for just £1 to Universal Credit claimants, with the option to purchase additional guest tickets. Similarly, the Tower of London and Kensington Palace offer discounted tickets for claimants, allowing up to six household members to benefit.

BFI Southbank also provides affordable tickets for film screenings, starting at £4 for standard screenings booked in advance. Discounts are also available for special events and previews, subject to availability, with a limit of one ticket per person.

Claimants of other benefits like Pension Credit or Housing Benefit may also be eligible for discounted tickets. Proof of benefit award and identification may be required for ticket purchases.

With a record eight million individuals now on Universal Credit in the UK, it is crucial to take advantage of available discounts. Different elements of Universal Credit, such as the standard allowance, child element, limited capability for work, carer element, work allowance, and childcare costs element, have varying values to support claimants.
