The proposed film titled “Young Americans” never materialized, but Major Tom continued to be a recurring character in Bowie’s work, depicted in songs like “Space Oddity” and “Ashes to Ashes.” Major Tom even made a posthumous appearance in Bowie’s “Blackstar” video.
Bowie’s extensive archive, now housed in V&A’s new East Storehouse, includes intriguing items like his first saxophone, Jim Henson-designed puppets, and rare Ziggy Stardust ensembles.
